I’m this vain: before going to bed, I rub Egyptian Magic under my eyes. And when I shave in the morning — yeah, I’m that much of an Englishman — I’m braced by what I see. I can’t claim I look like a teenager, but I definitely don’t look my age. And I think: If this thing ever ends, others will wonder if I spent the pandemic on Bali — the enduring damage won’t be visible.

I read the manufacturer’s explanation of ingredients that tighten the skin and reduce wrinkles, but the technical reasons that Beauty Flash Balm works are beyond my understanding. I did note the emphasis on not rubbing it in.
